Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from counselling?

Counselling can offer many benefits such as acceptance, validation, a clear mind, self-acceptance, improve your relationships, new coping skills, improved self-image, and self-compassion. I will work with you to establish rapport, trust, and respect. I take a trauma informed approach and look at all behavior through an attachment-based lens. I will support you in gaining new perspectives and understanding to your situations and circumstances. If you do not already have goals in mind for counseling, we can work together to establish and meet your goals.

How much do you charge?

I charge $160 per session for an individual session.

What forms of payment do you take?

I accept cash, e-transfer, and credit card. Your sessions are likely covered by your benefits and you can submit your receipt to your insurance company for a refund.

I do direct bill to some insurance companies. Please contact me to see if your insurance company is on my list.

How long is each session and how frequently do I need to come?

Each session is approximately 50 minutes, allowing 10 minutes for session notes and charting. We will discuss what your needs are together and create a frequency plan that works for you.

What types of sessions do you offer?

I offer individual adult counselling. Each session can be an in-person, virtual, or walking appointment.

What is your cancelation policy?

I ask for at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel a session. I understand that sometimes life happens and circumstances impede our ability to meet our obligations. I will do my best to be as compassionate as I can with less than 24 hours notice for a cancellation, however, I do require communication and respect for my time as well as your own.
